This episode kicks off on a weird foot as our heroes remember old internet videos, forgotten books and movies and strange commercials. Then they move on to Justin revisiting Austin Powers, Matt making his way through Spider-Man cartoons he hasn't seen and the season finale of "Westworld".
Matt finished up the '90s Spider-Man. Justin watched a few movies. We really dive into the latest episode of "Westworld" and how this season could wrap up. Plus, Matt has started watching "Run" on HBO and Justin is watching "Good Girls" on Netflix.
Our heroes are staying the course as the world remains upside down. Matt finally watched a movie he's been saying he'll watch for ages. Movies got moved, stuff got cancelled, yadda yadda yadda. The newest episode of "Westworld" raised a few more questions.
In the face of everything being on hold, our heroes come to terms with the fact that their episodes must, for a time, get a little shorter. However, they still have things to discuss: Justin saw what may be the best bad movie ever, Matt watched more Spider-Man and played more Jedi: Fallen Order. Plus, we catch up on the most recent two episodes of Westworld.
Justin watched a boat load of films in his ongoing quarantine. Matt's revisiting the old '90s Spider-Man and sure is glad Aunt May has changed since then. "Westworld" episode three was on. Matt did some ill-advised online retail therapy.
Justin is still sheltered at home as Matt still has to go out and about for work in this seemingly post-Snap world. Our intrepid heroes discuss what's occupying their time including: the '90s Spider-Man show, "Westworld", "Kingdom" and more.
Well, we're about a week into this pandemic thing and just finding ways to not lose our minds. At least Westworld is back! Yeah, baby! Also, our heroes watched both versions of the movie "The Crazies". Which one did they like more?
With the entire country shut down due to a global pandemic, our heroes give you a rundown of everything that's been cancelled or rescheduled. Plus, the 1990 "Teenage Mutant Ninha Turtles" movie turns 30 in a little less than two weeks! Other things covered include: Justin finished "Jedi: Fallen Order" and Matt's reading some old comics.
Oh yes oh yes oh yes, one of the geeks got older the day before this dropped! Justin's birthday is celebrated in this episode with song, a review of "The Invisible Man", wondering why there isn't more publicity for "Black Widow" yet, and a few other bits and bobs.
What's that? Another dull week? Whose dumb idea was it to make nothing happen in the first two months of the year?
Oh, Matt Reeves DID drop the first look at Robert Pattison as Batman. So there's that. Our heroes' Funko obsession continues. Justin is playing "Jedi: Fallen Order". There's a sneak peek at "Stranger Things 4" out.
So it's not like there's nothing. It just all feels...less than eventful.
We dive right in by reviewing "Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn". Justin also saw "Gretel and Hansel" and "Come to Daddy". Matt had a financial windfall and went a little Funko Pop crazy. Justin bought a game he hasn't even played yet.
Frozen peas and Star Trek. Good deals on Pop figures. Pokemon (duh!). The usual toy talk. And, to cap it all off, the greatest idea for a movie in the history of movies!
Thank goodness January is almost over because NOTHING fun or interesting happens in January! Matt read a few years' worth of "Green Lantern" and watched some "Star Trek: The Next Generation" and "Futurama". Justin played some Pokemon. Funko announced a whole lot of fun new Pops at London Toy Fair. Stuff. Things.
It doesn't get more basic, 2 Broke Geeks-wise, than this episode. Nothing super special this week, but nothing terrible, just your generic white girl of an episode. We cover the possibility of Christian Bale in "Thor: Love and Thunder". "New Mutants" is still coming out? The final trailer for "Birds of Prey" is a thing. Justin bought a Pokemon thing. Matt spent too much on Funko Pops. Comic talk.
January is not a big time for news, or, apparently, Matt doing stuff besides watching "Star Trek". Justin, however, went to a cool collectibles shop and watched "Uncut Gems". Matt makes an accidental purchase mid show. Plenty of toy talk, per the usual, as well as some rumination on the state of comics.
It's the 2019 wrap up show! Best movies, best TV shows, etc. Oh, and Justin got pissed on by a drunk dude. Plus, we somehow, someway end up talking about Pokemon! AGAIN! Happy New Year!
