We had heard only last week that Dominic Cooper was the lead candidate to portray the lead character in AMC's Preacher. Now, executive producer Seth Rogan confirms via Twitter that Howard Stark has indeed been cast as Jesse Custer.
We were also given the news from Deadline that former Weeds star Elizabeth Perkins will be joining the cast as a new character named Vyla Quinncannon who shares a name with villain from the comics.
Produced by Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogan, Preacher is set to star Dominic Cooper as Jesse Custer, Joseph Gilgun as Cassidy, Ruth Negga as Tulip, Ian Colletti as Arseface, and Lucy Griffiths as Emily Woodrow. AMC is planning to debut the series sometime in 2016.
