According to Deadline, we've got our first casting news for the upcoming The Walking Dead companion series. Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam-Carey are the first to join the cast. The series is rumored to take place in the same zombie apocalypse as its predecessor but the location and time it will take place has yet to be announced. Dillane is best known for playing Tom Riddle Jr. in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Debnam-Carey was recently seen in the found footage disaster film Into the Storm with former Walking Dead star Sarah Wayne Callies.
According to the same Deadline report, the series (also known as Cobalt) will revolve around a male divorced teacher and a female guidance counselor. Dillane plays the woman's son, who has battled a drug problem and Debnam-Carey will play the woman's ambitious daughter.
