On March 22nd 2019, Atomic Geekdom hit the red carpet to talk with the cast of AMC’s The Walking Dead. Join us on the red carpet and dive into the characters first hand. Season 9 has been a gift to us comic book readers with its adaptation of the comic. It was a blast talking with the cast on how they see their characters and where they want them to go.

Heroes and Villains is a convention that celebrates the comic book genre in film, television and in the comics. Meanwhile, Walker Stalker Con is a convention that celebrates the zombie genre, notably The Walking Dead. This year in Chicago the cons mashed up in a glorious team-up effort to combine stars from Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Gotham, Sons of Anarchy, and The Walking Dead! We were found wondering the Pasadena Convention Center over the weekend of August 6-7th. This was our first time at ScareLA which started back in 2013 as the “first fan convention dedicated to celebrating Halloween”.

Months upon months of speculation on when he'd be coming to The Walking Dead. Speculation on who might be cast as the fan favorite villain who's done some of the most horrific things to our favorite zombie apocalypse survivors. Finally we find out who's been cast to be play the baseball bat covered in barbed wire wielding madman, Negan. According to The Hollywood Reporter, super cool actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan will portray the villain in the season six finale, finally becoming a regular in season seven.
With AMC's Fear the Walking Dead having just wrapped up their first season, the new companion web series Flight 462 has finally debuted on YouTube! The 16-part web series will be available every Sunday during new episodes of The Walking Dead. Each episode will be around one minute long, with one of the characters in the web series joining the cast next season on Fear The Walking Dead.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, British actor Tom Payne has been cast for season six of The Walking Dead as comic book fan favorite Paul Monroe aka "Jesus". Payne will have a recurring role in the series with an additional option to return the following season. It should be noted that his character is still alive in the comics...Just saying.
Just days after the rumors of Jason Statham was in talks to play Bullseye for the upcoming second season of Marvel's Daredevil, a rumor that has since been denied by Statham himself, we get news that Frank Castle has been cast! Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead, Fury) will portray The Punisher in the critically acclaimed Netflix series when it returns in 2016.
Over the past weekend, we attended Wizard World Comic Con in St. Louis. I was able to sit in on a few panels with Billy Boyd, George Romero, Michael Rooker and Jason Mewes, and Hayley Atwell and Lyndsy Fonseca. I was also lucky enough to talk with Michael Rooker and B.J. There was great excitement when DC Comics and Warner Bros. announced that Michelle MacLaren (Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones) would be directing the first official live action Wonder Woman film starring Gal Gadot and Diana Prince/Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman is to be DC's first female led film and is a very important film in the DC Universe. Unfortunately, however, they will have to find a new director for the film. MacLaren has left the film, according to a statement from the studio.
Even without an official name for the series, going only by the name 'Cobalt' during production, the companion series to The Walking Dead has already been given a two season order. The series, which will star Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, Frank Dillane, and Alycia Debnam Carey, will be set in Los Angeles and focus on these new characters and storylines. The first season will consist of six episodes and premiere on AMC this summer. The second season will air in 2016.
