WhedonCon 2017!
WhedonCon 2017 is Here!
Frequent visitors to the site or the podcast know that most of us here are HUGE Joss Whedon fans. Personally, I've been on the Whedon Fan Train since Buffy the Vampire's pilot episode. Something about the way he molds and develops stories and characters just captivates me. He has this way that few writers do, about making you love a character so much and then ripping your heart out when he kills them brutally. It's great! This year in we're fortunate enough to be able to cover WhedonCon!
Joss Whedon To Direct Batgirl Film!
DC fans have been upset by the recent releases from the DC Extended Universe of films. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad have left an unending foul taste in their mouths, and they're less than optimistic that the upcoming Wonder Woman film will redeem the shared universe. However, today we get a glimmer of hope within this grey and gloomy universe Zack Snyder has created. Joss Whedon, a Geek God for many, has signed a deal to write, produce and direct a live action Batgirl standalone film.
Director Leaves Wonder Woman
There was great excitement when DC Comics and Warner Bros. announced that Michelle MacLaren (Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones) would be directing the first official live action Wonder Woman film starring Gal Gadot and Diana Prince/Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman is to be DC's first female led film and is a very important film in the DC Universe. Unfortunately, however, they will have to find a new director for the film. MacLaren has left the film, according to a statement from the studio.

Seventeen Years of Buffy
First there was a movie. It wasn’t great, but it was memorable. I saw the movie on VHS for the first time and thought…meh. It didn’t blow me away, but the reason it was memorable was because of the title. Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It was intriguing and different. I can’t say I remember the advertising for the film and it wasn’t something I was looking forward to seeing, but I loved the horror and vampire genre so I wanted to see it. It starred Kristy Swanson, Donald Sutherland, Paul Reubens, Luke Perry, Hilary Swank, David Arquette, Rutger Hauer and in an un-credited role even Ben Affleck. It didn’t do great and after it was made into a show we found out it wasn’t made with Joss Whedon’s vision in mind. That was the summer of 1992.
