The evening began with a very long montage video of all the films, heroes, villains including Guardians of the Galaxy and a great look at Thanos. Kevin Feige came out and said they're focusing on 2015, which means Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-man which they began with.
Director Peyton Reed, and actors Paul Rudd (Scott Lang), Michael Douglas (Hank Pym), and Evangeline Lilly, who will play Hope Van Dyne, the daughter of Hank Pym played by Douglas. Corey Stoll was also there and will play villain Darren Cross/Yellowjacket. Basic premise of the film: Ant-Man is a story of a heist. Corey Stoll's character has taken a company in a bad direction. Paul Rudd becomes Douglas' partner. Stoll's character was Hank Pym's mentee before things got sour. Filming begins on August 18th in Atlanta but they did show the crowd some footage of a tiny Pym running and jumping onto a flying ant and tries talking to the ant but it doesn't respond.
Ant-Man is set to hit theaters on July 17, 2015.
Feige announced that Joss Whedon couldn't attend SDCC due to knee surgery. It's tough to be the king. The Avengers cast came out, Robert Downey Jr., Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Cobie Smulders, Samuel L. Jackson, Chris Evans, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Paul Bettany, James Spader, and Elizabeth Olsen. That's a large cast and I can't wait to see this film...back to Hall H. Hemsworth mentioned that he likes the idea of Thor as a woman, "I think it could be my Oscar," he joked. Bettany talked about actually having to work in this film. He's not just doing voices for his role as Vision. Elizabeth Olsen slipped up when talking about the "magic" in the film and says "mutants," oooooh, naughty. I love that woman....focus!
They showed a bit of footage from the film. There was a party scene at Avengers tower. Starting with Stark, the Avengers all try to lift (unsuccessfully) Thor's hammer, Mjolnir. Rhodes, Hawkeye, Banner couldn't do it, but Steve Rogers moves it a little. First look at a very creepy Ultron. "There's only one path to peace. Your extinction." Chilling words from big bad Ultron (who's mouth does move.) A smorgasbord of scenes, Avengers all over the place, fight scenes, explosions, Bruce Banner in the woods. "Nothing lasts forever," spoken by Scarlet Witch. They showed the Hulkbuster Iron Man armor and from what I'm told...its amazing. Fully formed Ultron looking absolutely frightening. The footage ends with Tony looking over the bodies of the other Avengers. Wow. Looking forward to this video leaking on the internet or just plain being released would be nice too.
After the footage, Downey says there's always something up their sleeves and out walked Josh Brolin...confirming he is in fact, Thanos. But we knew that already right?

Avengers: Age of Ultron is due to release on May 1st, 2015.
