There was great excitement when DC Comics and Warner Bros. announced that Michelle MacLaren (Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones) would be directing the first official live action Wonder Woman film starring Gal Gadot and Diana Prince/Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman is to be DC's first female led film and is a very important film in the DC Universe. Unfortunately, however, they will have to find a new director for the film. MacLaren has left the film, according to a statement from the studio.
Kinda starting to feel like it did way back in 2007 when Joss Whedon was hired to write and direct an adaptation of Wonder Woman but then let go based on "creative differences". Perhaps with him leaving the Avengers world after Age of Ultron, Warner Bros will get wise and bring him back.
We'll still get our first introduction to Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, when Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, hits theaters.
Wonder Woman is scheduled to be released on June 23rd, 2017.
