The year is over and we're already moving on to 2018, but before we begin to forget about the year that was, a few of us here at Atomic Geekdom decided to live in the past for this article. Here's our choices for the best of 2017 in Film, TV, Books, Music, and more!

Injustice 2 Is Justice 2 The Franchise...Get It?
Injustice 2 is out and I have played it extensively. Before I get into what I think of the game let me admit to something...I am not good at fighting games. At least, not these traditional fighting games. So I’m also approaching this game from the standpoint of someone who wants to learn and get better. That being said, let’s get into it!
Titans & Young Justice: Outsiders Will Debut In 2018!
Key Characters Returning to Arrow
The first two seasons of Arrow are the main reason why we have such a rich and full DC Television Universe on The CW. The series gave us The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl due to it's success. While the current season has seen a slight return to that fun storytelling, it's also going to give us the return of two fan favorite characters. Deathstroke and Nyssa al Ghul are set to return to Star City!
Justice League: Come Together...But Not Right Now
Don’t hate me...but I disliked this trailer. Look, I am known for being a curmudgeon when it comes to the DCEU. I didn’t choose to not like these films or this universe. I just don’t. It doesn’t interest me, it doesn’t speak to me, it doesn’t leave me wanting more. This universe just leaves me wanting.
Heroes & Villains FanFest Chicago 2017!
Heroes and Villains is a convention that celebrates the comic book genre in film, television and in the comics. Meanwhile, Walker Stalker Con is a convention that celebrates the zombie genre, notably The Walking Dead. This year in Chicago the cons mashed up in a glorious team-up effort to combine stars from Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Gotham, Sons of Anarchy, and The Walking Dead! Check out our video below and the photo gallery just below that!

At the very least you know his name and that’s a start. Well worry not, because I am here to give you some more insight into who this royal jackhole is.

“The Worst Heroes Get the Best Reviews: Suicide Squad”
Sometimes studios have the tendency to burn a franchise to the ground. At least for me, the DCEU has all but sizzled out of redeemable qualities. I have been burned-out by the darkest films to ever see red and blue tights, and burned by a director who let his vision sacrifice the meaning behind the characters I love. Because of this tone, the next installment of the DCEU has worried me for a while. Would it be too over the top? Would it have too much responsibility on it to ameliorate the franchise and correct the mistakes of it’s predecessors? Would it suffer from trying way too hard to be Guardians or Deadpool-esque? Sitting in the theatre, finally seeing Suicide Squad, it is relieving to be able to say that it’s becoming a bit easier to breath in the DC universe.

Injustice 2 Reveals "New" Characters at SDCC
'Supergirl' Has Found Their Man of Steel!
Shortly after news broke that Supergirl had been renewed and then moved over to The CW we discovered that Superman would finally make an actual appearance on the show! During season one, Kara had run ins with her iconic younger yet older cousin but we never really got to meet the last Son of Krypton himself. She'd chat via instant message with Clark and he even saved her on one occasion but Supergirl had passed out as he had done so and she didn't get to interact with him in person at that point. During the finale event, Superman was under the thrall of Nod's master plan but we never got a chance to see his face. That all ends in season two of Supergirl! The CW has cast Tyler Hoechlin (Everybody Wants Some!, Road to Perdition, Hall Pass, Teen Wolf) to play Superman in at least two episodes, being introduced in the first episode of the new season.
What the Return of Wally West Means to Me
I have no idea at what point in my life I was introduced to The Flash. I don’t how old I was, if it was from a comic, a show, a conversation or even which Flash I knew about first. Best guess, it was a passing glance of the ‘90s TV show on CBS starring John Wesley Shipp. And whatever it was, however I found out about him, the character consumed me. Suddenly I ate, slept, breathed and farted The Flash and super speed. I would argue to death that there’s no way a lame-o hero like Superman could beat The Flash in a race…The Flash’s whole power set is speed! I don’t think I picked up a comic until I was in my late teens but when I did, I started with The Flash. And the only Flash I had ever known was Wally West.

Supergirl Gets Renewed in a New Home
Supergirl, which just ended its first season on CBS, has been renewed for a second season, but with a twist. The show is being rehomed on The CW, which is jointly owned by CBS and Warner Bros. (hence the name "CW"). It will join CW's other DC Comics based shows The Flash, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow.
