“The Worst Heroes Get the Best Reviews: Suicide Squad”
Sometimes studios have the tendency to burn a franchise to the ground. At least for me, the DCEU has all but sizzled out of redeemable qualities. I have been burned-out by the darkest films to ever see red and blue tights, and burned by a director who let his vision sacrifice the meaning behind the characters I love. Because of this tone, the next installment of the DCEU has worried me for a while. Would it be too over the top? Would it have too much responsibility on it to ameliorate the franchise and correct the mistakes of it’s predecessors? Would it suffer from trying way too hard to be Guardians or Deadpool-esque? Sitting in the theatre, finally seeing Suicide Squad, it is relieving to be able to say that it’s becoming a bit easier to breath in the DC universe.
Tonight the prestigious MTV Movie Awards were held, as they are every year. This year, however, a few cast members from the upcoming DC Comics/Warner Bros film Suicide Squad were in attendance and with them, came a new trailer. Check it out below!

This cast just keeps getting bigger and better! As writer and director, David Ayer's Suicide Squad is set to begin production next month, we get word that Lost's very own Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje has been cast as Killer Croc!
The film that will follow Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in the newly created DC Cinematic Universe is not a Batman solo film, not a Wonder Woman solo film, its not even an Aquaman solo film. No, the first film we'll get after the fallout of Batman v Superman is David Ayer's Suicide Squad. Some may balk at the confidence in such a move when building such a large cinematic universe, but not me. I'm excited to see Task Force X on the big screen and I think it'll do very well if treated in the right way. I love Harley Quinn, and her merry band of villains doing Amanda Waller's dirty work under threat of imminent death.
Last night during the WB Television Studios panel at SDCC, a brand new, extended trailer for Arrow's third season was screened. The biggest difference from the one that was shown earlier this week? Ra's al Ghul.
