'X-Men: Apocalypse' Trailer Has Arrived!

By: Dave Clark

Since as far back as I can remember the X-Men have been a part of my comic book loving life. The animated series back in the 90's helped catapult me into this world, but the comics themselves seduced me into loving this team of extraordinarily evolved people. Probably my favorite run of books was the Age of Apocalypse series in which we see a world where Charles Xavier died before he could see his goal of uniting Mutants and Humans in peace. Also in this world, Apocalypse has taken control of the planet and rules with a vicious and evil fist. And now...now we get to see Apocalypse on the big screen for the first time and he's bringing his four horsemen with him. Today we got the first trailer of the latest X-Men film directed by Bryan Singer. Check it out below the official synopsis of the movie:

Since the dawn of civilization, Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant, was worshiped as a god. Amassing the powers of many other mutants, he became immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants to cleanse humanity and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven with the help of Professor X must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their nemesis.

X-Men: Apocalypse is set to be released on May 27th, 2016 and stars James McAvoy as Charles Xavier, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert, Lucas Till as Havok, Alexandra Shipp as Storm, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Ben Hardy as Angel, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Olivia Munn as Psylocke, Lana Condor as Jubilee, and Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse
