New Trailer For 'X-Men: Apocalypse' Released!
'X-Men: Apocalypse' S.B. 50 Trailer!
'X-Men: Apocalypse' Trailer Has Arrived!
Since as far back as I can remember the X-Men have been a part of my comic book loving life. The animated series back in the 90's helped catapult me into this world, but the comics themselves seduced me into loving this team of extraordinarily evolved people. Probably my favorite run of books was the Age of Apocalypse series in which we see a world where Charles Xavier died before he could see his goal of uniting Mutants and Humans in peace. Also in this world, Apocalypse has taken control of the planet and rules with a vicious and evil fist. And now...now we get to see Apocalypse on the big screen for the first time and he's bringing his four horsemen with him. Today we got the first trailer of the latest X-Men film directed by Bryan Singer.
First Look Photos From X-Men: Apocalypse
As the dust settles from the amazing showing that FOX/Marvel Studios had at this year's SDCC, we're getting more and more information from our favorite shows and upcoming films. One of those films being Bryan Singer's X-Men: Apocalypse which had a huge panel of actors at Comic Con. Today we were given a bevy of photos (curtesy of EW.com) that showcase the new additions to the X-Men cast including, Apocalypse, Psylocke, Cyclops, Storm, Nightcrawler, and Jean Grey.
First Look: Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler
X-Men: Apocalypse Casts Psylocke!
With pre-production ramping up for Bryan Singer's X-Men: Apocalypse, we're getting news nearly every week. Today we found out via Singer's twitter account that Betsy Braddock aka Psylocke had been cast for the film. Olivia Munn officially joins the already huge cast of mutants for Singer's third installment into this series of X-Men films.
'X-Men: Apocalypse' Casts Nightcrawler!
With production ramping up for the third installment in this new X-Men trilogy from Bryan Singer, there's been speculation over which mutants we may see in X-Men: Apocalypse. News broke recently that we'd see the younger versions of Jean Grey, Cyclops, and Storm and yesterday we found out that Nightcrawler would be joining the mix. Again its a younger version of the teleporting blue guy, as Kodi Smit-McPhee (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, ParaNorman) has been cast in the fan favorite role. X-Men: Days of Future Past saw the emergence of Quicksilver in a scene that most people call an instant classic. Will Nightcrawler get a similar treatment this time around?
Review: X-Men: Days of Future Past (Spoilers)
In the past I've been very critical of the X-Men films. I'm close to this franchise, because as a young person it was my first real comic series that I fell in love with. There were the comics, the animated series, and the toys. I loved the X-Men and at a young age I couldn't get enough of them. Then as I got older, they announced the release of the first X-Men film. I could not wait to see it and it was amazing. Then X2 came out and it was even better than the first, but it was downhill from there. X-Men: The Last Stand left a very sour taste in my mouth. And it was all made worse with the release of X-Men Origins: Wolverine even though I finally got to see my favorite mutant, Gambit, hit the big screen. I was given hope, however, when X-Men: First Class came out. I enjoyed it a great deal and couldn't wait for more films with these characters and actors. So, now we have X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Yet Another X-Men: Days of Future Past Trailer
Ok, so here's the 1,000th...and final, X-Men: Days of Future Past trailer to be released before the actual film does. It feels like there's been a new one almost every week for the past seven years. Could be that I've been paying extremely close attention to this film, or it could be that Fox's Marketing Department has lost their minds. Either way, it looks great (Quicksilver's silly outfit aside) and this trailer makes me really excited to see this film. I do have a fear that Bryan Singer has loaded up too many mutants for this film and there won't be enough screen time to see my favorites (GAMBIT! WHERE IS GAMBIT?!) but I'll keep the faith until I actually see the film.
