A new version of Flash Gordon is coming from 20th Century Fox. The script is being written by J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay (Star Trek 3) with John Davis (The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Predator) and George Nolfi (The Adjustment Bureau) set to produce the film. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class, Kingsman: The Secret Service) is in discussions to become the director of the film.
Flash Gordon was a serialized comic strip back in 1934 created by Alex Raymond. The series was then made into a feature film in 1980 directed by Mike Hodges with Queen providing the music and became a cult classic. Sam J. Jones starred in the film as the title character.
