Over the last few months rumors have been swirling around the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice film, that Jason Momoa had been cast in an undisclosed role. He's flat out denied it repeatedly, even laughing at the notion that he'd be portraying Aquaman. But today the internet is saying that it's been "confirmed" that the Game of Thrones star has been cast as Aquaman for the 2016 comic book blockbuster.
I have no opposition to this casting at all, in fact I think it works very well for Aquaman but I do believe they are putting way too much in one film. We already have Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Alfred Pennyworth, Cyborg, Lex Luthor, Lois Lane, Perry White, and the actual film tells us we'll see Batman and Superman square off at some point. That's a lot for one film. I understand that this film will lead into Justice League but there's a lot of people for one movie that seems to be about Batman and Superman.
They're planning to somehow introduce Batman (which I believe they can do easily and quickly), Wonder Woman (which is a complicated character), Cyborg, Lex Luthor, and now Aquaman into one film. Lofty goal for Snyder and DC/Warner Bros. When they announced this film last summer at Comic-Con it was already going to be a huge movie. Now it sounds like its going to be the movie of the century...if done correctly.
I have optimism for this film, but its fading quickly with each addition to the cast. What do you guys think? How would you feel if the Momoa as Aquaman rumor is true? How are you feeling about this movie as a whole?
