After an extensive casting search filled with rumors almost daily about who might next play Peter Parker in the upcoming Sony/Marvel film, we finally have news! Marvel announced that Tom Holland (The Impossible, Wolf Hall, In the Heart of the Sea) will play Spidey in the next film due to be released on July 28th, 2017. He should also make his cinematic debut in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War film due to be released on May 6th, 2016.
Also announced was that they found a director for the next Spider-man film. Jon Watts (Cop Car) will take charge for this new incarnation of the web slinger that sees his adventures clashing with the MCU (remember kids, its now ALL connected!).
