Review: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows

When you go to a movie that Michael Bay had a hand in creating you can count on two things. The first is that it will pretty much a non-stop ride. Very few chances to really sit and reflect on what you just saw. Because if you did you’ll start finding all of the flaws in it. And the second is that regardless of how good the movie is, you’ll have a fun time. And that’s exactly what you get with this film, it’s not a great movie it’s just a fun time in the theater.

New Trailer For 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows' Debuts!

Earlier today, Stephen Amell (Green Arrow himself), gave everyone a quick tease of the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows trailer on his Facebook. Amell is cast to play vigilante Casey Jones in the Ninja Turtles sequel.

Bebop & Rocksteady Confirmed!

A few weeks ago we reported that Stephen Amell had been cast as Casey Jones in the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sequel. Now we learn that Paramount has finally confirmed that two fan favorite villains, Bebop and Rocksteady, will also appear in the film. The two were created for the animated 90's series, and were later added into the comic book as well. More recently they (SPOILER ALERT) were involved in a storyline in the comics in which they killed Donatello to prove their worth to Shredder. Now the question is...does this mean that Krang is on the way?

PG #2 TMNT

Pop Gospel: 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles'

First, let me say that this is an article about the Turtles not the newest movie. I did enjoy the movie and it was good to see them back on the big screen but this article is more about the Turtles as characters not any specific movie, book, or show. I will probably even do more than one TMNT based article going forward. I have loved the turtles since...forever I think. Their adventures and battles against Shredder were always great to watch. Two things always stood out to me; how the brothers needed each other, whether they admitted it or not and their incredible confidence in who they were as individuals in a team. They had their fights, like all siblings, but in the end they came together to save the day. There was one thing that held them together, their father Splinter. I always loved Splinter, not just because he was wise or he could kick butt, but because his faith in his children never wavered. Splinter raised Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo to believe in themselves and each other. He helped them find their identity and how they each fit into the group. Leonardo was a natural leader, Raphael was bold and strong, Donatello was incredibly intelligent, and Mikey loved life and was the one who kept everybody loose. Imagine what this team would look like if Splinter was not around. There would be no team or maybe there would be but it would not be the "save the day" team we know. They would be a mess.

Review: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Spoilers)

Much like many reading this right now, I was a huge Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan. For me, it started with the animated series. I didn't discover the comic book until I entered High School, which was much later. I had all the toys, I saw all the movies, I watched all the cartoons. I was a geek for the turtles. I'd spend time in class drawing the turtles, and to this day, I can still the draw them the exact same way I did back in fifth grade...which is to say, not very well. I enjoyed the films, and the Turtles will always hold a place in my heart. I was skeptical, to say the least, for this new version of my favorite heroes in the half shell. It didn't help matters when I discovered Michael Bay was involved.

New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Trailer

A lot has already been said about the new Ninja Turtles movie that's set for release on August 8th. A lot of people hate the way the turtles look for this Michael Bay film, personally I'm not a fan but trying to remain optimistic. In this latest trailer, we get a bigger glimpse into the storyline and plot for the film, and it does give me some hope that it will be more entertaining than Transformers was.
