Beginning June 3rd DC Comics is going to do away with the New 52 moniker and start a few new books. There will be a vast number of ongoing books that will remain, but we're going to get some interesting new titles as well.
“This heralds in a new era for the DC Universe which will allow us to publish something for everyone, be more expansive and modern in our approach and tell stories that better reflect the society around us. Whether you’ve been a DC fan your whole life, or whether you are new to comics – there will be a book for you beginning in June. In this new era of storytelling, story will trump continuity as we continue to empower creators to tell the best stories in the industry.”
Story trumping continuity has me a bit afraid. I love me some continuity. I haven't been a fan of the new incarnation of Batgirl written by Brenden Fletcher and knowing he's going to be writing the new Black Canary book has me a bit worried about one of my favorite character's future. I am excited to see a new Starfire series, however. Check out the expansive list of upcoming new titles and ongoing series:
