The film that will follow Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in the newly created DC Cinematic Universe is not a Batman solo film, not a Wonder Woman solo film, its not even an Aquaman solo film. No, the first film we'll get after the fallout of Batman v Superman is David Ayer's Suicide Squad. Some may balk at the confidence in such a move when building such a large cinematic universe, but not me. I'm excited to see Task Force X on the big screen and I think it'll do very well if treated in the right way. I love Harley Quinn, and her merry band of villains doing Amanda Waller's dirty work under threat of imminent death.
With the recent announcement of the Civil War event happening in 'Captain America 3' Warner Bros. were due to make a splash in the comic book movie announcement war. Today at a shareholder meeting, Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara announced the plans for the Justice League film directed by Zack Snyder. He also gave news of a few upcoming films in the works as well.
They hinted towards this at SDCC with Patton Oswalt's humorous video clip, now its official. Barbara "Bobbie" Morse aka Mockingbird has been cast and the actress playing her is Adrianne Palicki (Supernatural, G.I. Joe, Friday Night Lights.) This isn't her first foray into the televised adventures of superheroes. She was cast as Wonder Woman in the failed NBC pilot by David E. Kelley back in 2011. She was also in the failed WB pilot for Aquaman, as Nadia an evil type character. Now she'll join the amazing cast of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and play an important Marvel character...important to Hawkeye's love life at least.
Well its that time of year again, its Comic-Con time! Providing us with some daily highlights is our on the scene reporter, Jenny Robinson (you should of course follow her awesomeness @robiart!) Over the last few months rumors have been swirling around the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice film, that Jason Momoa had been cast in an undisclosed role. He's flat out denied it repeatedly, even laughing at the notion that he'd be portraying Aquaman. But today the internet is saying that it's been "confirmed" that the Game of Thrones star has been cast as Aquaman for the 2016 comic book blockbuster.
