We are totally living in the Golden Age of television. Now now, I know people will argue that, but seriously…we are. Coming up with the top 10 of 2014 seemed easy, but it wasn’t for me at all. There is so much great television that I am harassed daily because I haven’t watched a particular show. I have FX’s Tyrant on my DVR still awaiting a watch. CW’s The 100 is anxiously awaiting a play and the guys on this particular website are at me to get Arrow started. There is seriously not enough time in the day for all of the great T.V. So here I go. According to Deadline, we've got our first casting news for the upcoming The Walking Dead companion series. Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam-Carey are the first to join the cast. The series is rumored to take place in the same zombie apocalypse as its predecessor but the location and time it will take place has yet to be announced. Dillane is best known for playing Tom Riddle Jr. in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Debnam-Carey was recently seen in the found footage disaster film Into the Storm with former Walking Dead star Sarah Wayne Callies.
A few weeks ago we got news that AMC had ordered a pilot episode for a companion series of The Walking Dead. We weren't told much aside from Robert Kirkman's involvement along with showrunner Dave Erickson. But now, thanks to TVLine, we have a few summaries of some of the characters we may expect from the new series.
With the extreme success of 'The Walking Dead' television series on AMC, it was only a matter of time before we were given some type of spin-off series set in this zombie infested world. Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd and David Alpert will serve as executive producers for the pilot and Dave Erickson will be the show runner and E.P. as well.
