DC Launching New Books With New Creative Teams

Beginning June 3rd DC Comics is going to do away with the New 52 moniker and start a few new books. There will be a vast number of ongoing books that will remain, but we're going to get some interesting new titles as well.

'Suicide Squad' To Begin Production in Toronto

The film that will follow Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in the newly created DC Cinematic Universe is not a Batman solo film, not a Wonder Woman solo film, its not even an Aquaman solo film. No, the first film we'll get after the fallout of Batman v Superman is David Ayer's Suicide Squad. Some may balk at the confidence in such a move when building such a large cinematic universe, but not me. I'm excited to see Task Force X on the big screen and I think it'll do very well if treated in the right way. I love Harley Quinn, and her merry band of villains doing Amanda Waller's dirty work under threat of imminent death.

'Supergirl' Begins Casting Process

Back in September we got the news that a Supergirl show was given a full series order from CBS and that the man behind Arrow and The Flash, Greg Berlanti and Chuck and No Ordinary Family producer Ali Adler would be running things. The premise is rumored to focus on Superman's cousin, Kara Zor-El, as she begins to use her powers that she'd been hiding for years. Now The Wrap is reporting that casting has begun and that Claire Holt best known as Rebekah on The Vampire Diaries and The Originals is up for the title role.

Warner Bros. Announces DC Films!

With the recent announcement of the Civil War event happening in 'Captain America 3' Warner Bros. were due to make a splash in the comic book movie announcement war. Today at a shareholder meeting, Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara announced the plans for the Justice League film directed by Zack Snyder. He also gave news of a few upcoming films in the works as well.

Cavill On Set

Henry Cavill Filming On Location For 'Batman v Superman'

Thanks again to @FlashCWFans for the following on set photos from the filming of 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.' The photos show Henry Cavill as Clark Kent filming near some building. Nothing groundbreaking, but just some candid on set shots. Enjoy!

First Look At The New Batmobile

A few photos have surfaced of the Batmobile that we'll be seeing in 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.'

First Look at Wonder Woman!

Well...DC/Warner Bros started off Day 3 of SDCC with a bang. They brought out Zack Snyder and he debuted a teaser trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, showing a rainy Gotham rooftop and Batman standing atop wearing a very Frank Miller-y armor suit. He pulls a tarp off of a Bat Signal that illuminates in the sky revealing a very angry Superman with red eyes. We also got a great glimpse at Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and I have to say...my doubts have receded a bit. Take a look.

New Color Photo of Batfleck!

Ok, so with Comic-Con comes news, surprises, reveals, and just awesomeness. Yesterday we got a new photo of Ben Affleck as Batman. Its in color this time, but he still has that "lost my puppy" sad appearance.

Ongoing: Grayson #1

Ongoing: Grayson #1

From a very early age, I was fascinated with the Robin character in the Batman universe. Not just with the comics, but with the '66 television series, the animated series, and continuing on into Teen Titans and Nightwing. He eventually would break away from Batman to be his own hero. He recognized that he would forever be in Bruce's shadow so he left Gotham and became a vision of hope for a new city that needed a savior.

'The Batman' Solo Film in 2019?

Since he was cast as Batman/Bruce Wayne for what was originally thought of as the sequel to Man of Steel (but has since become a stand alone film titled Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.) we've been curious as to when Ben Affleck would get his solo film as the Dark Knight. Rumor has it (latino-review.com) that we'll be seeing him return (after a stint in 'Justice League' in May of 2017) to the cape and cowl in 2019 to begin the new franchise of Bat films.

Jason Momoa as Aquaman

Jason Momoa Cast as Aquaman?

Over the last few months rumors have been swirling around the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice film, that Jason Momoa had been cast in an undisclosed role. He's flat out denied it repeatedly, even laughing at the notion that he'd be portraying Aquaman. But today the internet is saying that it's been "confirmed" that the Game of Thrones star has been cast as Aquaman for the 2016 comic book blockbuster.

Rumored DC Films Releases

Rumored DC Comics' Films Release Dates

In what was allegedly going to be released at Comic-Con International, Deadline found, Nikki Finke has posted a listing of some soon to be produced WB films based on DC comic book properties. Again this is all rumor up to this point, with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice being the only one in production as I type.

Ongoing: Forever Evil #7

Ongoing: Forever Evil #7

Welcome to the first edition of Ongoing. Ongoing will be my comic book review article that I'll post every week, hopefully twice a week in which I'll pick up a book (new or old) and review it to the best of my ability. I'll also take suggestions from you guys as to what I should be reading and reviewing. And this week I read the conclusion to Geoff Johns Forever Evil storyline. Be warned, there will be spoilers in this review.

'Man of Steel' Sequel has Official Title

After all the swirling casting rumors, and then the swirling hate towards those casting announcments we've been waiting impatiently for the official title of the Man of Steel sequel. It's finally here. 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' is the official title of our first venture towards a Justice League film. There's even an official website now as well, check it out hereWhat do you guys think of the title? Or of the artwork released along with the title?

First Look at Batman and Batmobile

DC fans rejoice, today is the day of the Bat! Zack Snyder ominously posted the back two wheels of the Batmobile yesterday on Twitter , and today has followed up with our first look at Ben Affleck as Batman! We couldn't be more excited about this big reveal , and hope more new photos will soon follow. Sound off and let us know what you think of the new Batsuit and Batmobile!

Gotham Teaser

'Gotham' Gets Series Order And Trailer

Fox wasted no time in announcing that it was picking up the series 'Gotham' guaranteeing at least thirteen episodes. While I'm fairly confident they'll make it a full season, this is Fox we're talking about here. The series will serve as an origin story for Gotham City itself, along with several well known Batfamily characters. We'll see newly orphaned Bruce Wayne dealing with the loss of his parents. And if the teaser trailer is any indication, we'll see quite a few villainous faces as well. We're looking forward to this series, while praying that Fox does not screw this up as they have so many times before. What do you guys think? Excited for this new show? Ready for a side of the Bat we haven't seen on television or in the movies?

Comic Book Movie Dream Team

So, we've seen the X-Men and the Avengers on the big screen. We have every notion that we'll eventually see a Justice League in a feature film. Movie executives and Studios and directors get to choose which mutants and which members of our favorite teams we get to see but now Atomic Geekdom is letting you write the script. We want to know who you would choose to be in a future X-Men, Avengers, and Justice League film. We'll tell you our choices, go in depth on those choices on our next podcast (April 29th release, recording on Friday, April 25th) and we'll also read your choices as well.

Review: Son of Batman (Spoilers)

I've been a big fan of the DCAU (DC Animated Universe) since day one. The Batman: Animated Series was the best after school cartoon I can remember (Aside from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and X-Men: The Animated Series). DC jumped into another stratosphere when they started making their direct-to-video/DVD animated films. My favorite of the films is probably Batman: Under the Red Hood, but its really tough to choose as almost all of them have been so great. Their latest release, Son of Batman, is an adaptation of Grant Morrison and Andy Kubert's 2006 Batman and Son storyline. A loose adaptation at that, the film veers a bit from the source material.
