Deadpool 2 has hit the theaters this weekend. Now that the majority of us have settled down after going through the emotional process that was Avengers: Infinity War, it's time to see how super hero films can keep the momentum going. And, although Deadpool is not part of the MCU, it still has to keep pace with the other super hero films to stay afloat. But how will the Rated-R follow up to the amazingly received Merc With The Mouth solo film stack up?
With all the excitement and fervor over last week's Avengers: Infinity War trailer release and the subsequent record breaking ticket presales, it makes sense for studios to want to glomb onto that buzz. And why not keep it within the Marvel family? Marvel Studios and 20th Century Fox released a brand new trailer for Deadpool 2 that gives us a much larger glimpse into what we can expect from the fourth wall breaking Merc with a Mouth.
Through the combined efforts of Ryan Reynolds and 20th Century Fox bravely pressing the 'Enter' key, we have our first official looks at Domino and Cable from the upcoming Deadpool sequel.
We've been waiting for this news since we heard that Cable would be debuting in the sequel to the super successful Deadpool film. Names were bandied about for months up on months. Brad Pitt, Michael Shannon, Russell Crowe, Kyle Chandler, and many more were up for the role. Today we've discovered that Josh Brolin will portray Nathan Summers aka Cable in Deadpool 2!
Reboots are a hot commodity. Studios are always looking for the next property they can reinvent. Reboots can bring in an already established fan base and invite a brand new audience to delight in rebooted goodness. And while there are some films that definitely should not be touched, looking at you Back to the Future, there are a lot more that deserve to have another go around. Here are five films and one TV show that I think Hollywood should seriously consider:
Going into the theater to see the Merc With a Mouth's first live action solo feature film, I had few expectations. I'm a fan of Ryan Reynolds' comedy work. I knew that this film would be much more adult than all the previous comic book films we've seen in the past. I knew we'd be getting a closer adaptation of Deadpool from the comics than we got in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. My concern was...does it need to be rated R for Deadpool to work?
Deadpool stars Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, T.J. Miller, Gina Carano, Brianna Hildebrand, Andre Tricoteux, and Leslie Uggams and is set to be released on February 12th, 2016.

Just a few days after finding out that MMA fighter turned actress Gina Carano had been cast as mutant Angel Dust in the upcoming Deadpool film, we find out that the female lead has been cast as well! Morena Baccarin (Firefly, Homeland, Gotham, V) has been cast as the yet unnamed and potential romantic interest for Ryan Reynolds' title character.
As production begins on the highly anticipated FOX film Deadpool starring Ryan Reynolds as the Merc with a Mouth, casting news will begin to trickle down. News broke this week that MMA fighter turned actress Gina Carano has been cast to portray Angel Dust, a mutant whose ability allows her to elevate her adrenaline levels to provide her with super strength.
We all saw the test footage of the potential Deadpool film with Ryan Reynolds providing his voice and motion capture. It left us all wondering when we'd get to see the real thing in a full feature capacity. Today we got news from Twentieth Century Fox that 'Deadpool' is coming to theaters on February 12, 2016. What's significant about the date? It means production will begin soon, and that it will release before 'X-Men: Apocalypse.' It's unconfirmed but expected that Reynolds will reprise the role and that writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Zombieland) will still get to see that script they wrote get some kind of treatment. Director Tim Miller is said to be directing the film as well.
